7.1.4. Correct Interpretation

Management and other decision makers must be trained and competent in understanding what the monitoring is telling them. They must have sufficient knowledge to make correct decisions at the time that the decisions need to be made. A late decision or decision based on the wrong information is catastrophic. They also need to be able to act on their convictions – this may mean some form of decision making back up in the form of knowledgeable resource base.
